Ekesiobi comes from a proud and respected Nigerian royal lineage rooted in Ezinifite, Anambra State, Nigeria. He was named after his grandfather, King Steven Ekesiobi Ofomata 1 who faithfully ruled the Ezinifite kingdom for more than three decades with honor, wisdom, and service to his people. His family legacy is built on leadership, entrepreneurship, integrity, humanitarianism, and strong community values.

He is the son of Queen Uche Umeagukwu and Amaechi Ofomata, both parents are entrepreneurs.

Ekesiobi was raised in a family that emphasizes education, discipline, hard work, and excellence.

His mother who is the ceo of UCHE HAIR and UCHE GROUP is widely admired for her wisdom, Serial entrepreneur and hardwork , she often reminding him, “You are like water you have no enemies,” a reflection of his peaceful spirit and ability to connect with people from all backgrounds.

Ekesiobi is also inspired by his entrepreneurial family roots. His maternal grandfather has been a successful entrepreneur since 1959, and Ekesiobi hopes to continue that legacy by becoming an entrepreneur and community leader after his football career. His vision extends far beyond athletics, as he aims to use sports as a platform to inspire others and create opportunities for future generations.

A natural competitor and passionate football player, Ekesiobi is recognized for his strong work ethic, coachability, discipline, and determination to achieve his goals. Coaches, teammates, classmates, and mentors describe him as respectful, dependable, caring, and highly motivated. His positive energy and humble personality have made him one of the most well-liked and respected students at Calabasas High School.

His sister Adaeze Ofomata is a civil engineering student at UC Merced, California.
